Trunyan Traditional Village in Bali is actually a cemetery village. Located in Kintamani, on the shore of Lake Batur to be exact, you can visit it by taking a boat from Kedisan Village to cross Lake Batur for around 30 minutes. Lake Batur itself is so beautiful that you will not find the trip to the village boring.
If you wish to visit Trunyan Traditional Village, the package tour is priced at Rp. 160.000 or $9.91. Even though this village is open 24/7, it’s best to follow the travel agent’s schedule as they know the best time to visit it. Most tourists visit this tourist spot in the morning and during the day.

This traditional village is known for its unique funeral tradition. When it comes to funerals, Trunyan people will only put the dead body in the cemetery area without burying it. They’ll only wrap the dead body in cloth and leave their head uncovered. After that, the body will be placed in a bamboo cage to avoid wild animals.
There are 3 different cemeteries here, which are Seme Wajah for those who died naturally, Seme Bantah for those who died unnaturally, such as being murdered or due to accidents, and Seme Muda for babies, kids, and those who weren’t married.
